Harold “Corky” Blaker, Jr., 59, of 191 Kepner Hill Rd., Muncy, died Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born May 15, 1955 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Harold F. Sr. and Helene Lee (Eck) Blaker. On June 25, 1988 he married the former Kathleen “Kathi” Cummings. Together they celebrated 26 years of marriage.
Corky was a 1974 graduate of Montoursville High School. He retired from the State Police where he worked as a civilian dispatcher.
Corky was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy.
He loved attending Muncy high school sporting events and kept the time clock at wrestling matches. Active in the community, Corky volunteered many years to the local fire companies. When possible, he took time to volunteer, encourage and give advice to local amputees. Corky was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Seattle Seahawks.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Brooke Spillane and her husband, Steven, of Havertown, Adam Houseknecht and his wife, Darcy, and Ryan Houseknecht and his fiancé, Jamie Shoemaker, all of State College; one brother Gary Blaker and his wife, Tanya, of Williamsport; one sister, Barbara Fura and her husband, Dan, of State College; four grandchildren, Regan, Cameron and Olivia Houseknecht and Maggie Spillane; and two grandchildren expected later this spring.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to Noon Thursday, at the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, where a memorial service will be held at Noon, with his pastor, the Rev. Arlene Beechert, officiating.
Burial will be held privately in the Muncy Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Lycoming County Police Camp Cadet, c/o Chief Deputy Curt Ulmer, Lycoming County Sheriff’s Office, 48 W. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
