Harold J. Smith

Harold J. Smith, 86, of Lewisburg, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

He was born January 10, 1932 in Newcomerstown, OH, a son of the late Harold and Alma (Norman) Smith.  On July 11, 1953, he married the former Faith Grimes, who survives.  Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Harold graduated from Newcomerstown High School and the Life Bible College, Los Angeles, where he was ordained as a minister.

He started his career in ministry in Lebanon, and then served in Danielson, CT before retiring from the Four Square Church, Lewisburg. Throughout his working career, Harold also drove a school bus for Lewisburg Schools for 32 years and worked at the former Dock/View Dairy.

Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family and friends at his river lot.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Betty Smith, of Lewisburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and William Black, of Glendora, CA; two grandsons, Paul Smith, and Luke Smith and his wife, Alisha; two great-grandsons, Evan and Mason Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, David B. and Gary E. Smith.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 18 at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
