Harold Ellis Warren, Jr. (Quiet Thunder), 89, of Watsontown, entered eternity at his home with his family on October 12, 2014.

Mr. Warren was born September 22, 1925, in Shunk, PA, the eldest son of the late Harold Ellis Warren, Sr. and Virginia Rebecca Bradley. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 65 years, the former Marie I. Sharrow.

As soon as he turned seventeen in 1942 he volunteered for the U.S. Navy during WWII and proudly served aboard the USS Delta in both the European and Pacific theaters of war.  Mr. Warren was present in Tokyo Bay during the surrender of Japan in 1945 and served in the occupation forces until 1946.

After the Navy, Mr. Warren worked in a number of occupations during his lifetime including, factory worker, machinist, carpenter, handyman, salesman, and foreman in addition to personally building five homes for his family.  He was active and enjoyed working regularly at various jobs during his retirement until his early 80s.  Mr. Warren actually built the Chapel at Green Lawn Cemetery where his service will be conducted.  He loved interacting with people and was respected by all who knew him.

Mr. Warren possessed deep beliefs in his Native American culture and Christian beliefs.  He was a committed family man who took pride in providing guidance and support for his five children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and he will be fondly remembered by all as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was a proud American citizen and patriot who loved his country.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion.

His Native American family and pow-wows were a large part of his life.

Mr. Warren is survived by his five children, Vicki A. Watts of Milton, Susan R. Kelly of Lansford, Steven H. Warren of Georgia, Nancy (Willow) M. Kaltenbaugh of Mississippi, and David M. Warren of Montgomery; his only surviving sibling, Don Warren of Muncy; fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by five siblings and three granddaughters.

A funeral service and burial will be held on Thursday, October 16 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Route 54, Montgomery, PA 17732.
