Harry L. Yerg, 90, of Lewisburg, died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born January 21, 1926 in Muncy a son of the late Alfred and Dorothy (Orner) Yerg. He and his wife, the former Gloria Kline, were married September 27, 1946. Together they celebrated 69 years of marriage.
Harry served honorably in the army during World War II in the European Theatre. He was a member of the 69th division where he would be the recipient of a bronze star.
He retired from the former Milton Manufacturing as an assistant superintendent.
Harry was a member of the Kratzer-Dull American Legion Post 182, Lewisburg.
He loved hunting, fishing and camping. Harry also enjoyed woodworking and making crafts.
Most importantly, Harry loved spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children and their spouses, June and Gary Reedy, of New Columba, Sharon Hartman, of Millmont and Keith and Jody Yerg, of New Columbia; two daughters-in-law, Monica Fisher, of Lewisburg and Donna Goss, of Middleburg; one sister-in-law, Marianna Yerg, of Muncy; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and a neighbor who was like a son, Wally Hollenbach.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased two sons, Allen and Randy Yerg; two brothers, James and Lester Yerg; a twin sister in infancy, Violet Yerg and one son-in-law, Jerry Hartman.
The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
