Helen L. Fisher

Helen L. Fisher, 89, of Lewisburg, died on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at her home.

She was born December 10, 1930 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late John and Elva (Beaver) Bowersox. On March 24, 1973 she married Harold R. Fisher, who preceded her in death on April 16, 2017. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage.

Helen was a 1949 graduate of Lewisburg High School.  She worked at the former Lewisburg Trust and Safe Deposit, later Commonwealth Bank, where she retired from the trust department.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milton.

Helen was also a member of the Order of the Amaranth, William A. Knecht Memorial Court 144, Milton.

Earlier in life, she enjoyed singing at weddings and being a member of church choirs.

Surviving are one brother Selin Bowersox, of Lewisburg; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Linda and Kenneth Miller, of Lewisburg and Ruth Clark, of Stone Mountain, GA; and three nieces, Paula Sassaman and her husband, Larry and Deborah Rice, all of Lewisburg and Lisa Clark, of Stone Mountain, GA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one sister-in-law, Jean Bowersox and one brother-in-law, Abbey Clark.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 21 at 1:30 p.m. in the Lewisburg Cemetery with Rev. David Dearing, officiating.  Due to current health conditions, the graveside service will be for immediate family members only, but the family welcomes the opportunity for people to park and remain in their cars during the service if they would like.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions in Helen’s memory be made to either the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 Mahoning St., Milton, PA 17847 or to a charity of one’s choice.
