Helen Mae Gauger

August 28, 1923 — June 3, 2020

Helen Mae Gauger, 96, of Watsontown, passed away on Wednesday June 3, 2020 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

She was born August 28, 1923 in White Deer Twp., a daughter of the late Clarence and Mahloa (Wertz) Royer.  She married the late Emerson E. Gauger, who preceded her in death on April 16, 1978.

Helen graduated from the former Watsontown High School.  She worked several different jobs through her younger years, including housecleaning.  Helen was also very active in the board of elections for Union County.

She was a member of the Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, White Deer.

Helen enjoyed playing cards and doing crossword puzzles.  She loved socializing and spending time with her family and friends at the Warrior Run Manor.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Clarence and Virginia Gauger, and James Gauger, all of New Columbia; six grandchildren, Cathy Kozer, Janet Kennedy, Michelle Spencer, Dwayne Gauger, Timothy Gauger and James Gauger Jr.; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be held privately in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
