Irene A. Grenoble Campbell

Irene A. Grenoble Campbell, 93, of Belcamp, Maryland, died Thursday, November 22, 2018 at her home.

Born December 4, 1924 in Pine Creek Twp., Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Doyle Edward and Ellen Matilda (Helms) Grenoble. On June 6, 1946 she married the late Max E. Campbell and together they celebrated 32 years of marriage before his death in 1979.

Irene was a 1942 graduate of Lock Haven High School. She worked as an Assistant Treasurer at the former Bank of New York, now Bank of New York Mellon Corporation,  where she retired. Irene then worked in real-estate as a bookkeeper and later for American Greeting Card Company as a store set up associate.

She was a member of the Fork Christian Church, Kingsville, Maryland.

Surviving is one daughter, Lizabeth Ann Mentzer, of Belcamp, Maryland; one sister Elsie Hazell, of Chipley, Florida; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Grenoble, of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a brother, Doyle E. Grenoble, II.

Friends will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 28 at the McComas Funeral Home, 1317 Cokesbury Rd., Abingdon, Maryland, where a Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. with Dennis Kozlowski, lead care pastor of Fork Christian Church, officiating.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Irene’s name be made to either His Place Community Center, P.O. Box 4119, Pittsburgh, PA 15202 or South Jersey Evangelism, P.O. Box 2115, Vineland, NJ 08362.
