James W. Engel

James W. Engel, 57, of Williamsport, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at UPMC, Williamsport.

Born July 29, 1967 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Herman and Helen Engel.  On May 5, 1990 he married the former Jennifer A. Burgett, who survives.  Together they celebrated 34 years of marriage.

James was a 1985 graduate of Montoursville High School.  He worked as an ASE certified Master Automotive Technician and retired from Custom Auto Care, Williamsport.

James was a longtime member of Faith Wesleyan Church, Williamsport.

James enjoyed riding motorcycles, and most importantly, spending time with his wife and children.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Wesley James Engel and Adelia Caitlin Engel, both of Williamsport; one brother, Michael Engel and his wife, Lisa, of Lock Haven; one sister, Rebecca Stroup and her husband, William, of Carlisle; and one sister-in-law, Caryn Engel, of Alexandria, VA. He is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, H. Dennis Engel.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
