James E. Jacobs, Jr., 68, of 2381 Rt. 405, Muncy, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born October 17, 1947 in Muncy, he was a son of the late James E. Sr. and Dorothy May (Kilgus) Jacobs.
Jim was a 1965 graduate of Muncy High School and received his Bachelors degree in Horticulture from Penn State University. He served honorably in the U.S. Army.
Jim worked at the former Bryfogle’s, Muncy, and Lunaire and Shop-Vac, both in Williamsport. He later retired from the Williamsport Hospital.
Jim attended the Muncy Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Roland Ritter American Legion Post 268, Muncy.
Jim loved to go fishing, especially his trips to Canada. He had a keen interest in ornithology and enjoyed many aspects of studying birds. Jim also loved sports, especially the Pirates, Steelers and Penn State.
Surviving are a sister, Gail Jacobs, of Muncy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Robert Dunkelberger, officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Muncy Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Susquehanna Health Cancer Center. Make checks payable to Susquehanna Health Foundation and mail to 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
