James V. "Jim" Smith

James V. "Jim" Smith, 81, of Watsontown, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born February 24, 1936 in Mahoning Twp., Montour County, a son of the late Walter and Anna (Wertman) Smith. On September 9, 1960, he married the former Patsy J. Baker, who survives. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Jim was a 1954 graduate of Watsontown High School.

He served honorably in the United States Navy.

He loved riding his motorcycles and was a member of the Buffalo Valley Motorcycle Club and life member of the American Motorcycle Association.  He was also a life member of the Moose Lodge 171, Milton and the Clyde F. Mowrer American Legion Post #323, Watsontown.

Jim enjoyed hunting, shooting, watching motorcycle races, reloading ammo, and walking his dog, Sparky.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Bill Graham, of Dingmans Ferry; one sister, Judy Prowant, of GA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Watsontown Cemetery.

The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St. Watsontown.
