James S. “Jim” Trostle, 70, of Hughesville, formerly of Muncy, died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.
Born August 29, 1946 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Gene and Ruth (Sperow) Trostle. On October 4, 1975 he married the former Debra A. Fry, who survives. Together they celebrated 40 years of marriage.
Jim was a 1964 graduate of Williamsport High School and attended the former Williamsport Technical Institute.
He loved his country and served honorably in the United States Air Force. Following his time in the military, Jim worked at Bethlehem Steel for nearly 25 years and later retired as an independent truck driver from J & D Trucking.
Jim attended Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church.
He was an avid car enthusiast.
Jim deeply loved his wife and family and never gave up after eight courageous years battling cancer. He was thankful for every day given to him, living life to the fullest.
Surviving in addition to his wife are six children, Kevin Trostle, of Watsontown, Philip Trostle and his wife, Stephanie, of Montgomery, Matthew Trostle and his wife, Lesha, of Muncy, Dena Hadzinikolov and her husband, Nick, of Muncy, and James and Jeremie Snyder; one brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Cindy Trostle, of Elizabethtown; one sister, Margene Trostle Abrams, of Ohio; one sister-in-law, Janice Trostle, of New Providence; 15 grandchildren, Spencer Trostle, Bailey, Alexus and Cassidy Hadzinikolov, Brayden, Evan, Nolan and Madden Trostle, Jameson and Hayes Trostle, Brooke, Clint and Dalton Snyder, and Jake and Jared Snyder.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, George Trostle.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church, 658 Village Road, Muncy, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. with Pastor Kevin St. Martin, officiating.
Full military honors will follow at the church.
Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church, 658 Village Rd., Muncy, PA 17756 or the American Cancer Society, Lycoming Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
