James C. VanBuskirk

James C. VanBuskirk, 80, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Brookdale Grayson View, Selinsgrove.

Born on March 15, 1944 he was a son of the late Leo and Sara (Miller) VanBuskirk. On April 13, 1974 he married the former Linda M. Heintzelman, who preceded him in death on December 21, 2020. Together they celebrated 46 years of marriage.

Jim was a 1962 graduate of Lewisburg High School. He retired from PPL, where he worked in management. 

Jim was a member of Trinity Church of Winfield. 

He was an avid golfer and member of the Bucknell Golf Club, and also a member of the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen’s Club and the Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed listening to classic country music and playing the guitar

Surviving are two daughters, Leanne VanBuskirk-Orcutt and her husband, Adam, of Lewisburg, and Sara Dowd and her husband, Andrew, of Centre Hall; one brother, Gary VanBuskirk and his wife, Caroline, of NC; one sister, Susan Boback, of Elysburg; and three grandchildren, Calvin and Luke Dowd, and Inga Orcutt.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jim was predeceased by a brother-in-law, John Boback.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, December 6 at Trinity Church of Winfield, where a funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Zachary Woods, officiating. 

Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.
