James J. “Jim” Watts, Sr., 86, of Lewisburg, formerly of Montandon, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at home.
Born March 1, 1938, in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Jack and Helen Watts. On June 23, 1979 he married the former Connie Young, who preceded him in death July 18, 2021. Together they celebrated 42 years of marriage.
Jim worked in maintenance for Shippers Car Line, Milton for 43 ½ years before retiring.
He was a member of the Milton Fish and Game Club. Jim enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, especially on his trips to Canada.
Jim loved coffee and cookies, always having some every morning. He was also known for telling stories for hours on end to anyone that would listen.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Brad Webber, of Lewisburg; step son, Brian Young, of Montandon; son-in-law, Paul Caldwell; two sisters, Wanda and Ida; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Cathy Paul; sister-in-law, Sue Young and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son, James Watts, Jr.; two daughters, Kay Caldwell and Donna Clayton; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and John Styer; four brothers, Tom, Dave, Bob and Richard Watts and mother-in-law, Margaret Force.
A celebration of Jim and Connie’s life will be held at a later date in the summer.
The family is being assisted by Grenoble Funeral Home & Crematory, 308 Main St. Watsontown.
