James "Rick" Martin

James “Rick” Martin, 63, of 122 Old Rd., Montgomery, died Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

Born October 18, 1950 in Muncy, he was a son of Audrey (Lyons) Martin, of Muncy and the late James L. Martin. On September 9, 2000 he married the former Sharon J. Reid, who survives. Together they celebrated 13 years of marriage.

Rick was a 1969 graduate of Muncy High School and a graduate of Penn College where he received a degree in Automotive Mechanics. He worked as a laborer at Andritz, Muncy for 41 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.

Rick was a member of the New Covenant Assembly of God, Montgomery, where he played drums with the Worship Team.

A car enthusiast, Rick enjoyed drag racing at Beaver Springs and Numidia Dragways. He was fond of bowling, golfing, camping and traveling, especially to Florida. Rick was an avid train collector and musician, playing drums in the Pepper Street Band.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a daughter and son-in-law, Jenna and Ben Bartlett, of Muncy; three step children, Roger and Missy Geiger, of Muncy, Steven Geiger, of Milton and Valerie and Joel Harris, of Milton; three siblings, Barb and Ray Heller, of Muncy, Randy and Tracy Martin, of Montgomery and Lori McHenry, of Muncy; six step grandchildren, Troy and Alyssa Geiger, Bevianna Girardi, Mekhi Nolder, Joel Harris, Jr. and Abigail Harris.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Steven Martin and a sister, Sara Jane Long.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at New Covenant Assembly of God, 1270 Pinchtown Rd., Montgomery, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with his pastor, the Rev. James R. Pentz, officiating.

Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made to either the New Covenant Assembly of God, 1270 Pinchtown Rd., Montgomery, PA 17752 or to the American Cancer Society, Lycoming Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
