Janet R. Dierks, 89, of Winfield, died on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born April 11, 1935, in Madison, WI, a daughter of the late James J. and Mildred V. (Carter) Reid.  In January 1966, she married Max M. Dierks who preceded her in death on March 6, 2006.  Together they celebrated 40 years of marriage.

Janet was a 1953 graduate of State College High School. She then received her bachelor’s degree in home economics from Penn State University in 1957. Janet was very proud to have graduated from Penn State, continuing to support various funds and sports teams her entire life.

She was an avid gardener and participated in the local garden clubs. Janet also enjoyed quilting and participated in local quilting clubs.

Surviving are two sons, Mike Dierks and his wife, Kathy, of Germantown, MD and David Allen Dierks; one daughter, Elizabeth Dierks and her husband, Brent Haynes, of Hopewell, NJ; two brothers, John Reid and his wife, Bonnie, of Naples, FL and Thomas Reid and his wife, Paula, of Royersford, PA; one sister, Mary Ann Fink, of Geneseo, NY; one sister-in-law, Mary Reid, of West Islip, NY and seven grandchildren, Teresa Dierks, Franklin and Mariel Haynes, TJ, Tami, Cory, and Ricky Grist.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Katherine Grist and brother, James Reid.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
