Janice M. Roberts, 80, of Selinsgrove, died on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born January 11, 1944 in Jersey Shore, the daughter of the late John McClellan and Pearl Blanche (Walker) Scheesley.
Janice was a 1961 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and Kent State University in 1987.
In her early career, Janice was employed by a few local companies. Most notable, a gold broker for a company in Williamsport. After marrying and moving to Ohio, she became the President and Secretary of Blackhorse Architects from 1985 to 2009 a very successful company ran by her and her husband. During this time for 15 years, she was the sole proprietor of an AKC pure-bred dog kennel named Shih tzu by Janice. There, she bred several-hundred dogs, bringing joy to just as many families.
Later in life, she enjoyed retirement and spent time with family and friends and remained in touch with her many friends from Ohio. She was an active visitor of the Lewisburg Senior Center and enjoyed playing games of all types. She attended and was a member of Higher Hope Church in Sunbury.
Surviving are her sons, Giovanni Roberts, of Chillicothe, OH and John Roberts, of Port St. Luice, FL; brother, Kenneth Scheesley, of Jersey Shore; nephew, Scott Scheesley and his wife, Beth, of Selinsgrove; two grandchildren, John and Harley and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Shawn Chapman; a niece, Shelley Smith and a grandson, David Chapman.
The family is planning a memorial service to be held 10 a.m. Thursday, October 31 at Higher Hope Church, 1000 Race Street, Sunbury, PA.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
