Jason C. Confer, 36, of 319 Brouse Rd., Montgomery, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 13, 2016 from a brain aneurysm at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born July 18, 1979 in Williamsport, he was the son of Lorraine K. (Carpenter) Confer, of Montgomery and the late Craig A. Confer.
Jason was a graduate of Lycoming College, Williamsport. He was a co-owner of the New Mountain Tavern, Montgomery.
Jason was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Muncy.
Jason’s life was centered around his family. His greatest joys were his two nieces Leila and Paisley Hampton and the latest addition to our family his nephew Rylan Craig Hampton. Jason held his own membership to the Dyson sweeper collection. An avid shoe collector, our Saturday’s were often spent online trying to get the latest pair of Jordan’s. Traveling with his family was a big part of his life. He was an exchange student in Mexico for a year where he played basketball. Jason not only lived a full life, he loved life in general. As a family he hosted exchange students from Mexico, Luis Arias, Dominican Republic Jair Caraballo, and Japan Kuniko Niinomi. As a family we often traveled to these countries to visit our extended families.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers, Nicholas Confer and Patrick Confer, both of Montgomery; a sister and brother-in-law, Lorena and Cayne Hampton, of Montgomery; two nieces, Leila Mae and Paisley Kae Hampton; a nephew, Rylan Craig Hampton; and maternal grandparents, Jim and Carlene Carpenter, of Montgomery. Jason had a large family that also included cousins, aunts, uncles, and many many close friends.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Phyllis Confer.
The family is planning a memorial mass at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, with his cousin, Father Sean Carpenter, of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Pocono Pines, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Glenn McCreary. The family requests your presence at the memorial mass to honor and celebrate Jason’s life. In lieu of flowers a collection will be taken during the mass for Montoursville’s first responders that strived so hard to save Jason’s life.
The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
