Jean A. Lowe, 93, of Water St., Muncy died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

Born December 31, 1923 in Eldred Township, Lycoming County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Cora (Kiess) Stiger. On July 18, 1954 she married Nelson H. “Sticker” Lowe Jr. and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage.

Jean was a graduate of Montoursville High School. Prior to marriage, she worked at Sylvania, Montoursville. After marriage, Jean enjoyed raising her family and caring for her home.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Jean enjoyed knitting, sewing and ribbon embroidering. She excelled at needlework and was once featured on WNEP People and Places.  Most of all, Jean loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, including many summers at their river lot.

Surviving in addition to her husband are five children, Valerie A. Rowan, of Carson City, NV, Melanie L. Rupert and her husband, John, of Dallas, Connie J. Entz and her husband, Mark, of Montgomery, Todd N. Lowe, of Hughesville and Marc C. Lowe and his wife, Traci, of Muncy; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Von Stiger, of Muncy; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah, Cory, Ashlee and Allyson; and four great-grandchildren, Kailyn, Cameron, Adalia and Aurora.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Orville Stiger; a sister, Doris Finicle; and a son-in-law, Tony Rowan.

Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert W. Rice, pastor of Muncy Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
