Jean A. Persun
October 19, 1933 — March 28, 2017
Jean A. Persun, 83, formerly of Montgomery, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Susquehanna Health Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, Muncy.
She was born October 19, 1933 in New Columbia, a daughter of the late Fredrick and Florence (Nees) Strassner. She married John F. Persun on November 21, 1964 and together they celebrated 48 years of marriage before his death September 29, 2013.
Jean graduated from the former Watsontown High School.
She worked a short time at the former Montgomery Mills and eventually became a stay at home mom taking care of her family.
Jean enjoyed keeping up on her family's history, recording as much as she could. She also enjoyed reading and watching soap operas in her spare time.
Surviving are one son, Rex Persun, of Muncy; two daughters and one son-in-law, Peggy and Stanley Yarish, of Turbotville and Loretta Persun, of Muncy; one stepdaughter, Penny Moran and her husband, Nick, of Florida; one grandson, Matthew Yarish; one step granddaughter, Christina White; and one step great-granddaughter.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by one stepson, Jeffrey "Scott" Persun; one brother, Llewellyn Strassner; and two sisters, Bernice Margaret Young and Lois Etta Cramer.
Friends and family will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 31 at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St. Watsontown.
Burial will be held privately at a future date in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
