Joan C. McCulloch, 82, formerly of Pearl River, NY died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Barclay Friends Senior Living Community, West Chester, PA.

Born September 15, 1934 in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Mary Kate (Hennessy) Murphy. She and her husband, Henry G. McCulloch, celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death January 9, 2015.

Joan was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Manhattan, NY.  She spent her early years raising and taking care of her family.  Joan later worked for First Federal Bank, Pearl River, NY.

She was a dedicated former member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Pearl River, NY and a current member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Potomac Falls, VA.

Joan was also very active earlier in life with the Junior Women’s Club of Pearl River.

Surviving are three daughters and one son-in-law, Christine McCulloch, of Potomac Falls, VA, Karen Snyder, of Downingtown, PA and Ellen and Kurt Olsen, of Hughesville, PA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Timothy “Ted” and Roberta Murphy, of Pearl River, NY and John and Noreen Murphy, of Bronxville, NY; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jack Brennan, of Pearl River, NY; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Murphy.

Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, PA, where a prayer vigil will be held at 3:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, with the Rev. Glenn McCreary, officiating.

Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
