Joann Furek

JoAnn Furek, 88, of Hughesville, died Friday, June 9th, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born February 20th, 1935, in Glen Lyon, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Sokoloski) Isdepski. On November 15th, 1958, she married George Vincent Furek. Together, they celebrated 60 years of marriage before his death on December 25th, 2018.

JoAnn was a 1953 graduate of Newport High School. She was aloving wife and mother, devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also adored all the furry members of the family. She enjoyed tending to her yard, listening to music, dancing,taking family vacations to the Poconos and Ocean City, MD, and surrounding herself with the love and laughter of her family and friends.

JoAnn was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Muncy. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and deep love for the Lord and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Lisa and Steven Murren, of Hughesville and Debra Boatman, of Muncy; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Jeffery Vincent Furek, and a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Albert Herman.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be held in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
