John B. "Jack" Mclean

January 30, 1936 — March 24, 2014

John B. “Jack” McLean, 78, of 125 Forest Rd., Muncy, and most recently of Bethlehem, died Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Country Meadows, Bethlehem.

Born January 30, 1936 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late John Bruce Sr. and Miriam (Rossman) McLean. On June 12, 1959 he married the former, Barbara Barnhart, who survives. Together they celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Jack was a 1953 graduate of Mill Hall High School, and a graduate of Lock Haven University, where he received his bachelor’s degree.  He continued his education at West Virginia University, where he received his master’s degree in education.

He worked as a Driver’s Education teacher for Muncy High School for 36 years, retiring in 1993.  After retiring, he assisted part-time for many years at Grenoble Funeral Home.

Jack was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Muncy.

He enjoyed spending time working in his yard and doing other handy work around the house. Jack was fond of trips to Ocean City, MD and especially loved going to his grandchildren’s events.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and one daughter-in-law, John Bruce McLean, of Northampton and Jason and Kristin McLean, of Perkasie; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Todd Donnelly, of Bethlehem; and five grandchildren, Caitlin and Patrick Donnelly and Noah, Summer and Paige McLean.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in the Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made to the John “Jack” McLean Driver’s Education Enhancement Fund, and mailed to Muncy Bank & Trust, P. O. Box 179, Muncy, PA 17756.
