John P. "Jack" Rushoe

John P. “Jack” Rushoe, 77, of 34 Heatherbrooke Estates, Muncy, died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.

Born September 23, 1939 in Ashland, he was a son of the late Paul and Cleo (Degler) Rushoe. On January 21, 1961 he married the former Patricia Eck, who survives. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Jack was a graduate of Turbotville High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Jack worked as a laborer for 35 years at the former Sprout-Waldron, now Andritz, Muncy, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club.

He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Clarkstown

Jack was a firefighter and EMT with both the former Clarkstown and Muncy Fire Companies, now Muncy Area Fire Company. He was a member of a local car club and enjoyed classic cars. Jack was an avid history buff.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters and one son-in-law, Christle Rushoe, of Shiremanstown and Tawny and Mark Dietrick, of Ralston; five siblings, Shirley Howells, of Nanticoke, Carol Rupp, of Bloomsburg, Harold Rushoe and his wife, Rose, of CA, James Rushoe and his wife, Lee, of Bloomsburg and Joseph Palesky, of FL; and two grandchildren, Erin (Dietrick) Spencer and her husband, Mark, and Andrew Dietrick.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two siblings, Robert Palesky and Carol Bastian.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2041 St. Rt. 442, Clarkstown, with his pastor, the Rev. Beverly D. Cotner, officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church Cemetery, Montgomery.
