John W. Shannon

August 24, 1938 — March 26, 2018

John W. Shannon, 79, most recently of Camp Hill, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

John was born August 24, 1938 in Union County, a son to the late Charles Sr. and Jeannette (Thompson) Shannon.

John graduated from Cornwall High School, Lebanon and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University.  Following graduation, he worked for many years at Boeing in Seattle, WA.  He later returned to Camp Hill and retired from Gannet Fleming, Inc.

John formerly attended Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, and most recently attended Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill.

He was a member of the West Shore YMCA, Camp Hill.

Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Charles Jr. and Delores Shannon, of Cogan Station.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Eileen Shannon and one brother, William Shannon.

Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third St., Lewisburg, where the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. with the Rev. William S. Henderson, officiating.

Burial will follow in Lewisburg cemetery.

The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
