Jonathan Michael Langin, 16, of 21 West Pennsylvania Ave., Mount Union, died suddenly Friday, November 14, 2014 at the UPMC Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born December 31, 1997 in Williamsport, he was a son of Billie (Langin) Houseweart and Donald Adams, of Emporium.
Jonathan attended Mount Union High School. He was an active participant in the Special Olympics, where he played bocce ball, in the past, carried the torch and recently ran a 5K and finished third.
Jonathan loved listening to music, playing basketball, fishing and lifting weights. Kindhearted, he was fond of animals and volunteered at the SPCA. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and when not with them, enjoyed calling them to talk on the phone.
Surviving in addition to his mother and step father are his biological father, Jeffrey Houseweart, of Canton; a brother, Joseph Bower, of Emporium; a sister, Jordin Langin, of Muncy; maternal grandmother, Fannie Schuyler, of Muncy; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by great-grandparents, Joseph and Ruby Vezendy; a step grandfather, Keith Schuyler, Jr.; and step great-grandparents, Keith Sr. and Eloise Schuyler.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m.
Burial will follow in the St. John Lutheran (Brick) Church Cemetery, Montgomery.
The family will provide the flowers and requests donations be made to Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy to help the family with funeral costs.
