Joslyn F. "Jo" Buck

Joslyn F. “Jo” Buck, 84, formerly of Montgomery, died on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Williamsport South Rehabilitation and Nursing Center

Born July 15, 1939 in Montgomery, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin D. and Aurelia B.“Boots” (Balum) Fritz.  She was married to Richard F. “Dick” Buck, who preceded her in death on January 12, 2023.

Jo was a graduate of  MontgomeryArea High School, Class of 1957, where she was a cheerleader,  Flaming Foliage Queen and Homecoming  Queen.  She worked in the office for many years and retired from the former Stroehmann Bakery, Williamsport. Jo was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi International.

Jo was a member of the Bower-Decker Post 251 American Legion, Montgomery.  She enjoyed doing crafts, reading, sewing, playing cards and attending yard sales. She had a great love for animals, especially cats. Earlier in life, she enjoyed spending time at her river lot with her family and friends.  Jo was also an avid fan of Elvis Presley.

Surviving are two step children, Kelly L. Buck (Gary), of Watsontown and Richard L. Buck (Jill), of Montana; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two children, Kathy L. and Steven A. Decker; one brother, Pierre K. Fritz; and a nephew she was very close with, Robbie D. Fritz.

If friends so desire, memorial contributions in Jo’s memory may be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA or a charity of one’s choice to benefit the well-being  of animals.

A Celebration of Life service is being planned in the near future  for both Jo and her late husband, Dick,  and will be announced at a later date.
