Judith A. "Judy" Shannon

Judith A. “Judy” Shannon, 77, of Hughesville, PA formerly of Lansdowne, Virginia, died Friday, May 24, 2024 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Born July 2, 1946 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Theresa (Burke) Heller. On November 13, 1992, she married James F. Shannon, who survives. Together they celebrated 31 years of marriage.

Judy recently moved to Hughesville, PA to be near her daughter.  She was a member of the Galilee United Methodist Church, Sterling, Virginia.

Judy was involved with Children’s Inn in Bethesda, Maryland, where she enjoyed making mailbox stuffers for sick children.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter and son-in-law, Paul and Lisa Anderson, of Pennsdale, PA; two sisters and their families, Rosemary Lulis, of Mountain Top, PA and Mary Jean Williamson, of Wilkes-Barre, PA ; one brother and his family, Fred Heller, of Wilkes-Barre, PA; and two grandchildren, Dan Anderson and Lauren Anderson, of Pennsdale, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Heller, in infancy and a brother, Christopher Heller.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, PA where the memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.

Burial will be held privately in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy, PA.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Judy’s name be made to the Children’s Inn NIH, 7 West Drive, Bethesda, MD 20814.
