Justin Gabriel Lilley

June 26, 1981 — May 20, 2014

Justin Gabriel Lilley, 32, of Turbotville, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at his home.

He was born June 26, 1981 in Minot, ND, the son of Arlyn and Marybeth (Harrington) Lilley, of New Columbia.

Justin was a 2000 graduate of Minot High School in North Dakota.  He most recently worked at First Quality, McElhattan.  Justin formerly worked at Williamsport Wire Rope and Moore Business Forms, Lewisburg.

He was of the Nazarene faith and a member of Minot First Church of the Nazarene, ND.

Justin loved working on motorcycles and building cars and trucks. When Justin was a little boy he loved to be silly and loved riding his bike, really fast.  At the age of 13 he rebuilt his own dirt bike. He enjoyed snowboarding on the family farm in Minot, North Dakota. Justin loved music, the louder, the better.  He was an avid fan of Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, “The good ole boys.” He enjoyed being at the farm and being around the horses and the family dog, his bff, Dusty.  Most important to Justin was his daughter, Emily, as she was the light of his life. He loved her beyond words and was so proud of his little girl. He loved to watch her play soccer and ride her horse. He got such a kick out of her silly personality, and how she would have to “dress up” and celebrate every holiday. They loved to dress up together to go out trick or treating, the scarier the costume, the better. They both loved it. Emily is the spitting image of her Daddy.  She has his quirky sense of humor and his brave and sensitive spirit. Justin loved his family and was a loyal, kind, loving son, father, brother and uncle. Justin meant the world to his parents. He was the apple of his mother’s eye. He never went a day without a text or a call and the words, “I love you were always exchanged.” He truly admired his Dad, and loved him unconditionally. Through his Dad’s example, he exemplified integrity, dependability, determination, and loyalty in what it is to be a Man. He was his Dad’s go-to-farm hand, mechanic, and “duct taper”.  He was always willing to help a friend in need and give you his last dollar in his pocket. He was just that “kind of” a Man. Justin loved his little sister and was always very protective of her. Nobody was going to pick on his little sister, and if Amanda needed picking on it was going to be him. Justin loved being a “brother” to Danny and was so proud of his service for our Country. He knew he was always there for him. Justin was crazy about his nephew Nathan, “that boy can always make me laugh!", Justin would say. Justin loved cooking big steaks out on the grill, and kept an ample supply of beef jerky and Dakota sunflower seeds plentifully stashed in his truck. He loved the country and being outdoors. He lived life to the fullest and was excited about his future and watching Emily grow up.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a daughter, Emily Lilley, of Mifflinburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Dan Hall, of Milton; one nephew, Nathan Hall, of Milton; paternal grandmother, Martha Lilley, of New Columbia; maternal grandmother, Elva Harrington, of Minot, ND; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Martin Lilley; maternal grandfather, Marvin Harrington; paternal great-grandfather, John Lilley; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth; maternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Austin; and two uncles, John Hockett and Edward Boardman.

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to Noon Saturday at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, 71 Nazarene Lane, Milton, where the funeral will be held at Noon with Rev. Keith Mowen, officiating.
