Kay D. Michael, 83, of 739 Susquehanna Trail Rd., Muncy, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his home.
Born January 31, 1932 in Kelly Township, Union County, he was a son of the late James R. and Lena (Snyder) Michael. On May 6, 1952, he married the former June L. Lambert, who preceded him in death Sep. 20, 2013. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Kay was a 1949 graduate of Muncy High School. He served honorably with the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. Kay owned and operated Michael TV and Appliance in Muncy, for many years. Since retirement, he could be found working and socializing in the local Weis Markets and Sam’s Club.
Kay was a former member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Muncy.
He loved taking trips to the family cottage at Sharbot Lake, Ontario, Canada, where he enjoyed fishing. Kay was also known as a great story teller.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, James R. and Cathy J. Michael and Lloyd K. Michael, all of Muncy; a brother and sister-in-law, R. Keith and Marion Michael, of Bloomington, IN; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.
Burial with military honors will be held at the convenience of the family in the Muncy Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Muncy Area Volunteer Fire Company, 35 S. Main St., Muncy, PA 17756.
