LaRue F. Whitmoyer

LaRue F. Whitmoyer, 82, of Muncy, died Friday, November 1, 2024, at his home with family by his side.

Born November 10, 1941, in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Arden Whitmoyer and Georgine Buck. On July 1, 1961, he married the former Sarah Bachman at Muncy Baptist Church and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage.

LaRue retired from Young Industries, Muncy, where he worked in maintenance for over 40 years.

Following retirement, he was an avid hobby farmer. LaRue was also a passionate and lifelong hunter and member of the NRA.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Lorraine (Kevin) Wertman, and Douglas Whitmoyer; four sisters, Nancy Phillips, Barbara Leech, Deb Auman and Glenda Wirth; four grandchildren, Kurt (Lisa), Brent (Ashley), Kyle (Chloe) and Ethan (Madison); and four great-grandchildren, Ella, Kole, Amelia and Maverick.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Susan Whitmoyer; and a great-grandchild, Kaden.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, November 8 at the Muncy Baptist Church, 11 W. Penn St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Rice, officiating.

Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
