Lee A. Forer, Jr, 92, of E. Penn St., Muncy, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at his home.
Born May 24, 1924 in Rochester, NY, he was a son of the late Lee Arnold Sr. and Estella Mildred (Anderson) Forer. On November 24, 1949 he married the former Ruth A. Patterson, who survives. Together they celebrated 67 years of marriage.
Lee was a graduate of Liberty High School, where he played basketball and on the state championship soccer team. He later served on the Liberty school board. He worked as a Dairy and Poultry farmer for 25 years and received a certificate of recognition from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture in appreciation of outstanding service in promotion of agriculture. While farming, he also worked as a machinist at Ward Casting, Blossburg
He was a former member of both Friedens Lutheran Church, Liberty, where he served on the church council, and St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Muncy.
Earlier in life, Lee enjoyed taking his wife to dinner and dancing on Saturday nights at the Wheel Inn. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. Lee was a compassionate father and grandfather who treasured every moment spent with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters and one son-in-law, Jacqueline Forer, of Williamsport and Judith and Ron Jones, of Muncy; one brother, Clifford Forer, of Mesa, AZ; one sister, Gladys Jackson, of Roaring Branch; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Friedens Cemtery.
