Leonard Leroy Hritzko, 85, of 1566 Northway Rd., Williamsport, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born August 14, 1929, in Renovo, he was a son of the late Michael and Jennie I. (Huling) Hritzko. On February 14, 2001, he married the former Ruth Kershaw Travelette. Together they celebrated 11 years of marriage before her death on October 10, 2012.
At the age of 14 Leonard joined the Navy, then at 16 enlisted in the Army, where he served honorably during World War II. In 1990 he retired from Consolidated Natural Gas Co., where he worked for 22 years.
A 33rd degree mason, he was a lifetime member of the Renovo Lodge #495. He was also a member of the Remembrance, PA Post 442 American Legion, and a life member of the Elks Lodge #334 in Renovo, and the Veterans of Underage Military Service.
Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Christina Hritzko, of Harrisburg; one granddaughter, Brittney Hritzko, and two great-grandchildren of Harrisburg; two sisters Shirley (Bill) Burke of Mass. And Martha Jane Campbell, of Virginia; and one sister-in-law, Marlene Hritzko, of Williamsport.
In addition to his parents and his second wife Ruth, he was predeceased by his first wife, Jean (Durandetto) Hritzko; one son, Anthony Hritzko; four brothers, William, Andrew, Joseph and Richard Hritzko; and two sisters, Julia Tomko and Margaret Eschenbach.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, at the Muncy Cemetery.
