Linda M. Haynes-Fry, 78, of Hughesville, died Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Muncy Place.
She was born September 5, 1945 in Muncy, a daughter of the late Leon Houseknecht and Pauline (Kepner) McClain. On February 2, 1991 she married Kenneth Fry, and together they celebrated 28 years of marriage before his death on March 13, 2019.
Linda graduated from Hughesville High School in 1963. She worked at the former Grange National Bank as a bank teller, at Penn Advertising in billboard advertising sales, and later owned and operated the Olde Barn Center, Pennsdale, for 27 years.
She was a member of the Beacon United Methodist Church, Hughesville.
In her earlier years,Linda enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, and taking care of her family, and was a member of Business Professional Woman (BPW).
Surviving are three children, Leslie (Tim) Kepner, of Hughesville, Stephanie (Steve) Budman, of Muncy, and Jeffrey (Wendy) Haynes, of Bel Air, MD; two brothers Keith Houseknecht, of Pennsdale and Rick (Karen) Houseknecht, of Lock Haven; one sister Nancy (Javier) Vera, of Texas; six grandchildren Kyle, Korbin, Gina, Sean, Alexis and Emma; and three great-grandchildren Nova, Sage, and Remi.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at the Beacon United Methodist Church, 148 S. Main Street, Hughesville, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Kevin St. Martin, officiating.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Linda’s name be made to Muncy Place, In Care of Susquehanna Health Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701, or to Beacon United Methodist Church, 148 S. Main St. Hughesville, PA 17737.
