Linda K. Salpino (nee McCarty), 78, most recently of Quakertown, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Rosewood Rehab and Nursing Center under Hospice care with Compassus, in Schuylkill Haven.
Born March 2, 1946 in Allenwood and raised in New Holland, she was a daughter of the late Horace McCarty and Shirley (Jones) Kuipers.
In her high school and early adult years, Linda played the drums in marching band and drum and bugle corps. Her sense of rhythm was also evident in her love of dancing. After losing her sight, Linda had her radio playing music and news twenty-four seven. Until she was unable to care for them, Linda always kept a pet dog.
Linda’s family thanks the many staff at St. Luke’s University Health Network, Rosewood Rehab and Nursing Center, and Compassus Hospice Care for their compassionate care over the last year.
She is survived by her step mother, Carolyn McCarty, brother, William McCarty (Patricia); sister, Jane Basciano (Albert); step sister, Vicky Myers; five nephews, three nieces, two grandnephews and four grandnieces.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her step father, Robert Kuipers and step sister, Kimberly Zelinski.
Linda will be laid to rest at Allenwood Cemetery.
