Daughter of William A. Long, Sr., and Isabelle Y. Long; wife of William J. A. VandenHeuvel, III (who survives her); married on 8/20/1960.

She is survived by their three children and their families: daughter Adrianne and

Patrick Cusick and their three children: Ciaran, Alessia and Catherine; son Paul and Carolyn Kegley VandenHeuvel and their two children, Christian and Calder; and daughter Laura and David Tapscott and their two children, Annie and Sarah. Also survived by her brother, William A. Long, Jr,; predeceased by her sister, Martha Long Barnes.

Lois, a 1959 graduate of The College of New Jersey with a degree in Elementary Education, taught school in New Jersey, Maryland and Texas. She later retired from International Schools Services, Princeton, NJ.

Lois was an active member of several Lutheran churches, and a variety of community and other organizations, including the Packwood House Museum, Lewisburg, PA, and PEO.
