Lola Marie Wertman

Lola Marie Wertman, 91, of 2985 Four Mile Drive, Montoursville, died Saturday, September 17, 2016, surrounded by her family at the Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville,

Born November 12, 1924 in Renovo, she was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Flossie Pearl (Miller) Walker. On January 30, 1943 she married Edward C. Wertman, who survives. Together they celebrated 73 years of marriage.

Lola was a 1942 graduate of Muncy High School.

She was a dedicated  member of Grace Baptist Church, Muncy.

Having lived in Canada for 25 years, Lola enjoyed spending time working with special needs children. She was fond of traveling, reading, crocheting, embroidering, ceramics and golf. Her greatest love was her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Lee and Virginia Susan Wertman, of Jenks, OK and Stephen Charles and Judy Lynn Wertman, of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Margaret Walker, of Picture Rocks; a sister, Pearl Iseley, of Doylestown; six grandchildren and their spouses, Deborah Wertman (Brian Holdeman), Douglas (Kristy) Wertman, Jeffrey Wertman, Stephanie (Tom) Robbs, Nicholas (Nancy) Wertman and Timothy (Stacey) Wertman; and five great-grandchildren, Tristan, Samantha Lola Lynn, Brenna, McKinley and Oakley.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Grover, Robert, John and Samuel Walker; a sister, Mary Devore; and a nephew, Kevin Iseley.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Grace Baptist Church, 5471 Clarkstown Rd., Muncy, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Charles Teffeteller, officiating.

Burial will be held privately in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
