Lucille D. Lockard

Lucille D. Lockard, 89, a lifetime resident of Muncy, died Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Williamsport Hospital.

Born October 31, 1928 in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Clark L. & Anna M. (Turner) Dimm. On April 14, 1951 she married Charles H. Lockard and together they celebrated 53 years of marriage before his death on August 12, 2004.

Lucille was a 1946 graduate of Muncy High School. She later graduated from the Williamsport School of Nursing and worked for many years in the O.B. Department at the Muncy Valley Hospital.

Lucille was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy, where she was active in the United Methodist Women, Widow’s Mite and Keenagers.

She liked to sew and was an avid reader. Lucille enjoyed bowling in her younger years and loved keeping up with her rose bushes.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Jean L. and Michael Long, of Elizabethtown; and one grandson, Chris Long.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was predeceased by two brothers, Donald H. and John F. Dimm; and three sisters, Rebecca “Nana” Musser, Martha Spring and M. Marie Lewis.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, where a memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Arlene Beechert, officiating.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, PA 17756.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
