Lyndon L. Burkey, 68, of Muncy, died Monday, December 12, 2016, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

Born December 7, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a son of the late Raphael L. Burkey and Ruth A. (Rager) Burkey, who survives. On November 2, 2012 he married the former Tina Heintzelman, who survives. Together they spent 15 years together.

Lyndon was a graduate of Blacklick Township High School.  He attended the former California State College, now California University of Pennsylvania.  Lyndon served honorably in the U. S. Army.  He worked in the insurance industry for 40 years, owning the Lyndon L. Burkey Insurance Agency for the past 20 years.

Lyndon was a very hardworking man and in his spare time enjoyed riding motorcycles.  He also enjoyed carpentry and doing work on his rental properties.

Surviving in addition to his mother, of Twin Rocks, and wife are three children,  Andrew Burkey, Kimberly Still and Alicia Burkey; three step-children Nichol Gardner, of New Jersey, Chad Gardner, of Montgomery, and Melissa Williams, of New Jersey; a brother and sister-in-law, Craig Sr. and Carol Burkey, of Danville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Georgeanna and Richard Smidga, of Ohio, and Ruffina Winters, of Indiana, PA; and six grandchildren.

In addition to his father he was predeceased by a daughter, Kristina.

Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m..Friday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Asa Sherman, pastor of Pilgrim Holiness Church, Twin Rocks.

Full Military honors will follow the service outside the funeral home.
