Mabel A. Robbins

August 19, 1916 — August 18, 2016

Mabel A. Robbins, 99, of Muncy and formerly of Millville, died Thursday, August 18, 2016, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

Born August 19, 1916 in Madison Twp., Columbia County, she was a daughter of the late George and Laura (Weatherill) DeWald.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hoyt Glaze, who died in February of 1966.  Her second husband, Austin F. Robbins, preceded her in death in 2004.

Mabel grew up a hardworking woman on the family farm and continued that tradition later in life as she raised her own family.

She was of the protestant faith.

Being raised on a farm, Mabel had a fondness for animals.  She also enjoyed being around children.

Surviving are two step-sons, Drue Robbins and Lynn Robbins; two step-daughters, Michelle “Shelly” Rothermel and Cindy Harris; numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was predeceased by one son, Ronald DeWald; five brothers, Delmar, Ralph, Charles, Jesse and Howard DeWald; and four sisters, Irene Darin, Mary Andes, Stella Reed and Ruth Snyder.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23 in the Muncy Cemetery with Rev. Jane O’Borski, pastor of Bethany United Methodist Church, Hughesville, officiating.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Mabel’s name be made to either Susquehanna Hospice (please make checks payable to Susquehanna Health Foundation and mail to 1001 Grampian Boulevard, Williamsport, PA 17701) or Farmaid, online at www.farmaid.org/donate.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
