Madeline Mae Gates, 85, of Milton, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at her home.
She was born September 25, 1930 in Union county, a daughter of the late Cyrus and Kathryn (Paige) Turner. She married Lloyd Edward Gates, Sr., who preceded her in death June 2, 1985.
Madeline attended Lewisburg Schools.
Earlier in life, she worked for the Milton Shoe Company as a line supervisor and later at the Blue Note as a bartender. Madeline also worked at the All American Truck Plaza as a salad prep.
Madeline enjoyed gardening.
Most importantly, she loved taking care of her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Michael Gates and his wife, Cindy, of New Columbia, Jacqueline Stach and her husband, Charles, of White Deer and Annalisa Foulds and her companion, Norman Fogelman III, of Milton; one brother, Cyrus Turner, Jr., of Shelton, WA; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Lloyd E. Gates, Jr. and William B. Gates; two daughters, Mary Dauberman and Patricia A. Gates; two grandchildren, Michelle and Eddie; one great-grandchild, Claire; and five siblings, Arthur and Jerry Turner, Mary Wallize, Anna Kepler and a sister in infancy.
Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Cronrath¬-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St., Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at 2 p.m.
Burial will follow in Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
The family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Columbia Montour Home Health and Hospice, 410 Glen Ave #200, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
