Margaret A. “Maggie” Fenderson, 85, of Montoursville, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.
Born January 8, 1930, in Elmira, NY, she was a daughter of the late Frederick H. and Mable W. (Deyo) Hafer. On April 15, 1947, she married Donald Fenderson, who preceded her in death March 14, 1993.
Maggie attended school in Williamsport. Early in life she worked at the former Weldon's Manufacturing and S.S. Kresge, both in Williamsport. She later became head cook at Lyter Elementary School, Montoursville. Maggie retired in 1991 as a clerk from Rosencrans' Bakery, Montoursville.
She was a member of Montoursville Presbyterian Church.
Maggie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially meeting at local restaurants to socialize.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Chris Bower, of Montoursville; one sister, Betty Kinney, of Summerfield, FL; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Frank Wilson, of Lock Haven and Tami and Carl Nelson, of Grandville, MI; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Wilson and Adrianna Nelson.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Cameron Hafer.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 22 at Montoursville Presbyterian Church, 205 Tule St., Montoursville, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. David C. Smith, officiating.
Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Buchanan Cemetery, Williamsport.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Maggie's memory be made to either the Montoursville Presbyterian Church, 205 Tule St., Montoursville, PA 17754 or the Gatehouse, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
