STILL, Margaret “Maggie” (née Schuchman), aged 58, of Lewisburg, PA, passed away after a brave journey with thyroid cancer on July 24, 2024. Deeply loved in both her professional and personal circles, Maggie was known for her joyful personality, sharp intelligence, kindness, patience, and compassion.
From the age of four, she knew she wanted to be a doctor. Maggie pursued this vocation first at Fordham University, graduating in 1987, and then at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) where she received her Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) in 1991. It was also at PCOM that she met her husband and best friend, Christopher, with whom she shared over thirty years of marriage.
“Dr. Maggie” proudly served the Lewisburg community as a Geisinger physician for nearly 30 years, where patients and colleagues alike knew the goodness of her profound compassion and expertise. She was board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Pediatrics, and the Board of Lifestyle Medicine. She was also a certified yoga instructor.
Kind-hearted, funny, and full of life, Maggie brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling, yoga, walking outdoors, kayaking on Lake Nuangola, gardening … and chocolate.
Although she loved practicing medicine and saw it as a privilege to serve others, her true passion were her children. Despite a full career, Maggie never missed a single sporting event, recital, or school activity. She was immensely proud of her children, unconditionally loving the wonderful people they are.
She leaves behind her brokenhearted family: her husband, Dr. Christopher Still; sons, Christopher and Dr. Matthew; daughter, Maddie; and Matthew’s fiancée, Dr. Rachel Caulkins; her sisters, Liz (Michael) and Anne (Jim); her brothers, Joseph (Patty), John (Christine), and Peter (Amy); along with many cherished in-laws, nieces and nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Patricia Schuchman, and a sister, Mary Veronica.
The viewing will be private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 3 at Rooke Chapel on the campus of Bucknell University, celebrating her life and legacy. The family will welcome guests from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the funeral mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Geisinger Hospice or The Green Dragon Foundation. Maggie’s life was a testament to her deep love for her family, her friends, and her community, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
