Marguerite Miller, 84, of 347 Beth Ellen Dr., Lewisburg, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014 at her home.
She was born October 20, 1929 in Niagara Falls, Canada, the daughter of Walter and Jessie (Dalmer) Learning. On December 31, 1951 she married Patrick Miller, who survives. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Marguerite was a graduate of The Royal Music Conservatory, Toronto and did graduate work at the University of Michigan. She worked as a violinist and teacher at Lewisburg School District, Bucknell and Bloomsburg Universities.
She was a member of St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Lewisburg.
Marguerite was also a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota national music fraternity, a former member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and a former member of the Bloomsburg University Community Orchestra.
She enjoyed teaching, and with the help of her students, did benefit concerts for 10 years to support Habitat for Humanity. Marguerite had a passion for music and loved spending time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Wendy Claus and husband Don, of Glen Mills, Charles Miller and wife Pam, of Selinsgrove and Kathy Miller, of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is being planned by the family and will be announced at a later date.
If so desired, the family suggests memorial contributions in Marguerite’s name be made to either the Union-Snyder Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 64, Selinsgrove, PA17870 or SUN Home Hospice, P.O. Box 232, Northumberland, PA 17857.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
