Marion J. Foster

Marion J. Foster, 96, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.

She was born October 6, 1924 in Sanbornton, NH, a daughter of the late Olin and Alice (Woodman) Joslyn. On December 26, 1949 she married Charles A. Foster, who preceded her in death February 3, 2010. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Marion was a graduate of Laconia High School and received a degree from Plymouth Teachers College.  She taught Elementary school in New Hampshire for two years before moving to Pennsylvania. Marion spent many years as a homemaker, caring for her family. She later went back to teaching at Salladasburg Elementary School retiring after 17 years.

She was a member of Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewisburg.

In her free time, Marion loved knitting, sewing, crocheting and jigsaw puzzles.

Surviving are her children, David A. Foster, of Dunmore, Douglas A. (Judy) Foster, of Williamsport, Jeffrey C. (Kim) Foster, of Rockford, IL and Joyce C. (David) Paterson, of Dallas, TX; three sisters, Arlene (Bob) Ilgenfritz and Joyce and Shirley Joslyn; all of New Hampshire; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Everett Joslyn; two sisters, Helen Arsenault and Phyllis Smith and one granddaughter, Emily Foster.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be held in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

The family will provide flowers and suggest that contributions in Marion’s memory may be made to Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewisburg, through www.myremembrance.com , which will provide the family with a personalized keepsake that lists every donor’s name who so graciously donated in her memory.
