Marjorie Anne Heine

Marjorie Anne Heine, 88, of Lewisburg, died Friday, December 11, 2020 at her home.

She was born January 7, 1932 in Forty Fort, PA, a daughter of the late Gordon and Katharine (Thompson) Boote. On August 1, 1953, she married Harold Heine, who preceded her in death July 23, 2018. Together they celebrated nearly 65 years of marriage.

Marjorie graduated from Bucknell University with a B.S. in Chemistry and, as an undergrad, was a Phi Beta Kappa.

While raising her children, she was employed at the Bucknell Computer Center.

Marjorie was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lewisburg.

She and Harold traveled extensively and enjoyed sharing the fondness of foreign travel with both children and grandchildren.

In retirement, Marjorie explored her talents in painting and learned French.

She was an avid bridge player and found much fulfillment by being a volunteer reader to school kids while wintering in Florida as well as a Meals on Wheels deliverer in the Mifflinburg area.

Surviving are her children, Katharine Keller and her husband, Julius, of Gilbert, AZ and Eric Heine and his wife, Kristina, of Carrollton, GA; one brother, Thomas Boote and his wife, Janice, of Forty Fort; one sister, Jean Krouse and her husband, John, of Latrobe; 10 grandchildren, Christine, Rebecca, Christopher, Katie, Tim, Niki, Amelia, Deanna, Valerie and Julianne; eight great-grandchildren; four nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one daughter, Elizabeth Varney and a great-grandson, Johnny Alvarado.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a later date.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the Lewisburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Marjorie’s memory may be made to Lewisburg Meals on Wheels, through www.myremembrance.com, which will provide the family with a personalized keepsake that lists every donor’s name who so graciously donated in her memory.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
