Marvel L. Facer

Marvel L. Facer, 78, of 81 Park Rd., Winfield, died Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the Select Specialty Hospital, Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born February 7, 1938 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late George and Lauretta (Baker) Moyer.  Marvel and her husband, Richard J. Facer, were married June 21, 1958.  Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage before his death April 24, 2009.

Marvel was an exceptional baker and retired in 2000 from the Lewisburg School District where she worked in the cafeteria.

She enjoyed crocheting and made many gifts for her family over the years.  Marvel also loved spending time with her husband camping and travelling in their motor home.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard G. and Karen L. Facer and John C. and Diane L. Facer, all of Winfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law, G. Darl and Joanne Moyer, of Winfield and T. Larue and Linda Moyer, of Muncy; five grandchildren, Cara Facer Powers and her husband, Brian, Dr. Meghan E. Facer and significant other, Brad Crebs, and Jared A., Alicia R. and Justine D. Facer.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister in infancy, Joyce Moyer.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South 2nd and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg, where the funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. officiated by Pastor Marian K. Anderson, chaplain of Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village.

Burial will follow in Chestnut Hills Cemetery, Winfield
