Mary Ann Wertman

Mary Ann Wertman, 78, of Muncy, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Mary Ann enjoyed a 45-year nursing career; her interest in nursing began in junior high school where she became involved in the future nurses club; and later attended nursing school at the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing; after which she became a registered nurse and blessed countless lives with her uplifting spirit and caring nature. In addition to her love of nursing, Mary Ann enjoyed using her musical gifts in church singing and playing handbells.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Maine; son, Matthew; daughter-in-love, Lisa; sister-in-law, Diane Poff; and niece, Christina Poff-Long. She is also survived by stepdaughters, Jen (Daniel) Stroup and Anita Wertman, of Ohio; and three step-grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah and Tristan; along with Margaret Wenhold, caregiver. She is predeceased by her parents, Willard and Elsie Poff; brother, Alfred; and grandmother, Mary Brion.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Muncy Baptist Church, 11 W. Penn St., Muncy, where the memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, Rev. Robert Rice, officiating.

Burial will be held in the Turbotville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Mary Ann’s name be made to the Muncy Baptist Church.
