Mary Colleen Swisher, 83, of 3413 Rt. 220 Highway, Hughesville died Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.
Born July 12, 1932 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late John Joseph and Myrtle Evelyn (Figels) Moran. On May 9, 1951 she married Lee Kenneth Swisher, who preceded her in death July 25, 2008.
Mary was a graduate of Hughesville High School. She worked at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit and in Dr. Piccuta’s office, Williamsport. Most recently she worked at Bon Ton in the Lycoming Mall, Muncy.
Mary was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Muncy, where she received the Queen Anne Award for her dedicated service in religious education for over 50 years. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector and on the bereavement committee and the parish council.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. and Lori Swisher, of South Williamsport and Kenneth L. and Jennylynne Swisher, of Long Beach, CA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara A. and Dale Martin, of Hughesville and Linda S. and Kerry Mausteller, of Montgomery; one grandson, Robert L. Swisher and his wife, Sarah; and four great-grandchildren, Ava Lynn, twins, Margaret Elizabeth “Maggie” and Miles Lee and Jack David Swisher.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, James Dewey, John Raymond, William Delay and Bernard Joseph Moran; and three sisters, Alice Eldora Moran, Rose Marie Keller and Beatrice Naomi Lyons.
Friends will be received from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Glenn McCreary, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Phillip J. Sladicka.
Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.
The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
