Melvin M. Finck, 87, of Mazeppa, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016, at his home.

He was born Nov. 26, 1928, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Blair Sr. and Katherine (Edinger) Finck. On Nov. 9, 1948, he married the former Wanda Wagner who survives.

Melvin attended Milton High School and served in the Air Force during World War II. He was self-employed and ran his own construction business for many years before retiring.

Melvin was a member of Mazeppa Union Church, a member of the Buffalo Valley Sportsman Association, and a former member of the Lewisburg Kiwanis, where he was very active helping with recycling.

Melvin loved hunting and fishing. He and his wife Wanda also enjoyed traveling to Germany to visit friends that were made through events during World War II.

Surviving in addition to his wife is one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Donna Fink, of Mazeppa; one daughter, Karen Boyer, and her fiancé, Steve Wagner, of Mifflinburg; one brother, Roy Finck, of New Columbia; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Warren Dieffenderfer, of Milton and Phyllis and Terry Keiser, of Lewisburg; three grandchildren, Christian Boyer, Alisha McFeater and Laura Finck; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Erica Boyer.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Blair Finck Jr.; and one sister-in-law, Sherry Finck.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Mazeppa Union Church, 3200 Johnson Mill Road, Lewisburg, followed by the funeral at 11 with Pastor Ricky Phillips officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Mazeppa Union Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701, or Hospice of Evangelical, One Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
