Melvin F. “Sonny” Stahl, 81, of Turbotville, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday July 3, 2018 at AristaCare at Loyalsock.
He was born June 1, 1937 in White Deer Twp., a son of the late Melvin T. and Irene C. (Shiffer) Stahl.
Sonny worked as a mason for most of his life.
His passion in life was horses. Sonny loved to show them and take them to pulling competitions.
Surviving are his four children, Pamela Degray and her husband, Russell, of Mass., David Stahl and his wife, Sherri, of Turbotville, Virginia Stahl, of Montgomery and John Stahl and his wife, Adrianne, of Montoursville; five siblings, Ken Stahl, of Lewisburg, Yvonne Shuman and her husband, Rick, of Hughesville, Kathy Grady, of Montgomery, Linda Trutt and her husband, Bill, of Elimsport and Sherry Faye, of Turbotville, former wife, Patricia Stahl, of Montgomery; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Wayne Stahl and one sister, Sheryl Stahl.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Sunrise Cemetery.
